This study is designed to help us understand the importance and role of dreams, visions, revelations, etc., in the kingdom of God.


Dream in New Testament Matthew 1:20 – angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream Matthew 2:12 – warned by God in a dream Matthew 2:13 – an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream Matthew 2:19 – an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph Matthew 2:22 – after being warned by God in a dream Matthew 27:19 – last night I suffered greatly in a dream because of Him Acts 2:17 – and your old men shall dream dreams

Dreams in N.T. Acts 2:17 – and your old men shall dream dreams


Vision in New Testament Matthew 17:9 – “Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man…” Luke 1:22 – and they realized that he had seen a vision in the temple Luke 24:23 – saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said that He was alive Acts 9:10 – the Lord said to him in a vision Acts 9:12 – and he had seen in a vision a man named Ananias Acts 10:3 – he clearly saw in a vision an angel of God Acts 10:17 – Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what the vision Acts 10:19 – while peter was reflecting on the vision Acts 11:5 – and in a trance I saw a vision Acts 12:9 – but thought he was seeing a vision Acts 16:9 – A vision appeared to Paul in the night Acts 16:10 – When he had seen the vision Acts 18:9 – the Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision Acts 26:19 – I did not prove disobedient to the heavenly vision


Visions/Trance in New Testament Acts 2:17 – your young men shall see visions II Corinthians 12:1 – but I will go on to visions and revelations of the Lord Colossians 2:18 – taking his stand on visions he has seen


Trance in New Testament Acts 10:10 – he fell into a trance Acts 11:5 – and in a trance I saw a vision Acts 22:17 – that I fell into a trance


Revelation in New Testament as received from God for our own edification or for others in a corporate gathering I Corinthians 14:6 – speak to you either by way of revelation I Corinthians 14:26 – each one has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation I Corinthians 14:30 – but if a revelation is made to another Galatians 1:12 – Paul – I received it through a revelation Galatians 2:2 – Paul – it was because of a revelation that I went up Ephesians 3:3 – Paul – that by revelation there was made known to me Ephesians 1:17 – everyone via intercession – may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation


Revelations in New Testament II Corinthians 12:1 – visions and revelations of the Lord II Corinthians 12:7 – surpassing greatness of the revelations

How many of these involved angels?

Do angels not continue to minister to us today? (Heb. 1:13, 14) Then should we not expect them to use similar methods they used in biblical times? Isn’t that partially at least why we have been given this thorough record of their activity? Even with the full Bible, there are decisions we need to make that require information not found in the Bible. Especially directional decisions.
