You need to know there are many people here on the Central Coast who are preaching a window dressing gospel, whether it be the more aggressive forms of yoga, humanism, jehovah’s witnesses, or a hundred other dogmas – all of which refuse to admit they are a sinner in desperate need of a Savior.

Now we could quibble about this, but the more serious issue here is whether you or I are guilty of this sin. This pharisaic spirit that judges the source and validity of a supernatural or miraculous act – – without any objective grounds – and determines it is not of God, but rather of the devil – is a very dangerous spirit or state of one’s heart.

"...surely one of the reasons Jesus didn’t need anything from man, is because He was confident He had everything He could ever need from His Father, who loved Him and found great pleasure in His relationship with Him.

Seems the Sabbath has oft been surrounded by controversy. Was certainly the case in Jesus’s day. You may be surprised to learn what He teaches us about it. Matt. 12:1-14

Tonight at the dinner table with my wife, mother in law, and daughter I learned that none of them had ever read my blog. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. I rarely mention it around the house. And I rarely write in it.

3. Pride in a city is to be feared far worse than a terrorist attack – vs. 23

Sooner or later unbridled lust drives a man to (at the least) a hidden life of pornography; at the worst one or multiple affairs. And the damage done by either of those is inestimable.

Well there are only two kingdoms on the earth. Every nation and government; every man, woman, young person and child is either under the power, authority and influence of one or the other.

As we follow Jesus Christ moment by moment and day by day – He gradually but persistently transforms us into His very image and likeness. We become winsome like He was and is.

I think it is reasonable to say that He is pointing to a new system – – a new way of life – – a new way that will overrule and greatly improve on the old way of life. And thus old formulas and practices and rituals will not suffice. Especially when we do them for old reasons.
