Biblical Prayers for Being Impacted by God’s Word

Updated: Nov 9, 2019

In the kingdom of God, our gracious King expects us to ask, ask, ask (Matt. 7:7-11). James says we have not because we ask not (James 4:2). Effective Bible study rides on the back of effective and persistent prayer for such. These prayers are listed to this end.

Psalm 119:12b, 26 “Teach me Your statutes.”

Psalm 119:18 “Open my eyes, that I may behold Wonderful things from Your law.”

Psalm 119:25b “Revive me according to Your word.”

Psalm 119: 27 “Make me understand the way of Your precepts, So I will meditate on Your wonders.”

Psalm 119:28b “Strengthen me according to Your word.”

Psalm 119:29 “Remove the false way from me, And graciously grant me Your law.”

Psalm 119:33 “Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes.”

Psalm 119:38 “Establish Your word to Your servant, As that which produces reverence for You.”

Psalm 119:73b “Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.”

Psalm 119:133 “Establish my footsteps in Your word, And do not let any iniquity have dominion over me.”

John 17:17 “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.” (Jesus praying for His disciples)
