Building Ourselves up on our Most Holy Faith for Healing

On the same day (5/28/26) our 35 year old daughter was diagnosed with Colon cancer and one of the beloved members of our church/congregation was diagnosed with aggressive lymphoma. We believe God is healing them both, and my daughter recently was declared “cancer free” though she has to take regular tests now for at least the next five years.

In this battle to see them both healed my wife and I and other friends and relatives have had to regularly draw upon and stand upon various Scriptures/truths to guard over and build our faith.

Whether it be faith for the healing of loved ones, or people God leads us to pray for, or faith for our own healing, this required and necessary faith for Christ's ongoing healing ministry can be fragile and sorely tested at times.

So Anne and I have sensed of late that it is time to develop a prayer tool for those of us who want to know God more as our Healer and who want to be used of God more to see people healed.  May the Holy Spirit use this simple tool to help us all become more like Abraham, who “….did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God…” (Rom. 4:20).

“….for I, the Lord, am your healer.”  (Ex. 15:26); “See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who heal; ….” (Deut.32:39).  Father You have always intended to heal the sick, and to be known as our Healer. Please help me to know you more as My healer.

“How blessed is he who considers the helpless….The Lord will sustain him upon his sickbed; In his illness, You restore him to health.” Psalm 41:1,3  Thank you Father for this promise and reward for ministering to the helpless and needy. Please give me Your heart for them and help me trust You for my health and healing.

“For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper And from the deadly pestilence….No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent.”  Psalm 91:3,10  Thank you Father for this wonderful promise for those who dwell in Your shelter and abide in Your shadow. Please put a protective shield around me and my family from all sicknesses and diseases in Jesus’s name. Amen.

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.” Psalm 103:2,3  Father I bless You for all the times You have healed my sickness, diseases, injuries, etc. Thank You for that word “all” and I would remind You that I need healing right now for _____________________

“Surely our griefs/pains He Himself bore, And our sorrows/sicknesses He carried; …The chastening for our well-being/peace fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.” Isaiah 53:4,5  Thank you Jesus for going to the cross for my soul and for my sicknesses. Please cleanse me from all sin and sickness today by Your precious blood.

“Woe, shepherds of Israel….Those who are sickly you have not strengthened, the diseased you have not healed, the broken you have not bound up….” Ezekiel 34:2,4 Father as one who seeks to shepherd Your sheep, please increase my anointing to heal the sick in Jesus’s name.

“Jesus was going throughout all Galilee, teaching…proclaiming…, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness among the people.” Matthew 4:23   “Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.”  Matthew 10:1  Father please make me more like Your Son in terms of healing the sick. Help me walk in the authority He has given me. Help me to not be intimidated by any condition known to man. Thank You for those words “every”  and “every”.

“And when the men of that place recognized Him, they sent word into all that surrounding district and brought to Him all who were sick; and they implored Him that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were cured.” Matthew 14:35,36  Father we thank You that Your very presence heals the sick. May Your healing presence be ever stronger in us, in our homes and on our properties, and on our church property in Jesus’s name. (cf. Acts 5:15,16; 19:11,12)

“And a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Mark 1:40,41  Thank you Jesus for your great compassion for the sick and Your great willingness to heal them. Fill me with the same in Jesus’s name!

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” John 14:12,13  Father, we realize Jesus gave this wonderful promise to His gathered disciples. Please help the congregation I am a part of pray with increasing faith and authority so that we can do these greater works for Your glory.

“For to one is given….faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, and to another the effecting of miracles…” I Corinthians 12:8-10  O Jesus, thank you for these wonderful gifts for the healing of the sick and raising of the dead. Please pour out these gifts on Your church in our region. Please anoint the leaders of Your church in our region to equip the saints with these gifts to walk in them in ever greater fruitfulness for Your glory in Jesus’s name. Amen.

“Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” III John 2  Father thank You that it is Your will for us to prosper and to be in good health especially as our soul prospers in godliness and holiness. Please help me cooperate with You more fully in the daily prospering and nurturing of my soul in Jesus’s name. Amen.

May the Holy Spirit bring these Scriptures and truths to life for every member of the body of Christ in your region (and mine) and may we all pray these prayers with ever greater faith and persistence so that Jesus’s healing ministry can continue unabated in and through us, and may many come to Christ as they see Him heal through us for His glory in Jesus’s name. Amen.
