Holy in the Old Testament re: the Priests and Levites of God


Lev 21:6 - 'They shall be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God, for they present the offerings by fire to the LORD, the food of their God; so they shall be holy.


Lev 21:7 - 'They shall not take a woman who is profaned by harlotry, nor shall they take a woman divorced from her husband; for he is holy to his God.


Lev 21:8 - 'You shall consecrate him, therefore, for he offers the food of your God; he shall be holy to you; for I the LORD, who sanctifies you, am holy.


Num 6:8 - 'All the days of his separation he is holy to the LORD.


Num 6:20 - 'Then the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD. It is holy for the priest, together with the breast offered by waving and the thigh offered by lifting up; and afterward the Nazirite may drink wine.'


2Ch 23:6 - "But let no one enter the house of the LORD except the priests and the ministering Levites; they may enter, for they are holy. And let all the people keep the charge of the LORD.


2Ch 35:3 - He also said to the Levites who taught all Israel [and] who were holy to the LORD, "Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel built; it will be a burden on [your] shoulders no longer. Now serve the LORD your God and His people Israel.


Ezr 8:28 - Then I said to them, "You are holy to the LORD, and the utensils are holy; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering to the LORD God of your fathers.


Psa 106:16 - When they became envious of Moses in the camp, And of Aaron, the holy one of the LORD,


Eze 44:19 - "When they go out into the outer court, into the outer court to the people, they shall put off their garments in which they have been ministering and lay them in the holy chambers; then they shall put on other garments so that they will not transmit holiness to the people with their garments.


Eze 44:23 - "Moreover, they shall teach My people [the] [difference] between the holy and the profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.


Eze 46:20 - He said to me, "This is the place where the priests shall boil the guilt offering and the sin offering [and] where they shall bake the grain offering, in order that they may not bring [them] out into the outer court to transmit holiness to the people."
