I've always wanted to get all of these commands (a couple of them aren't explicity commands) in one place, especially since last Sunday and this coming Sunday I will be discussing these things with our children.
Most of the commands are positive. A handful are negative. Though I haven't counted them, seems by far the emphasis is loving one another - something that we simply cannot do without an ever deepening relationship with our Savior. May the Holy Spirit do that deeper work in each of us in these days.
Positive Commands:
“…..Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.” Mark 9:50
“If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet”. John 13:14
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34,35
“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.” John 15:12
“This I command you, that you love one another.” John 15:17
“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;” Romans 12:10
