The Mandate To Preach & Teach “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19,20

Instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines…” I Tim. 1:3,4

“…point out these things to the brethren…” I Tim. 4:6

“..prescribe and teach these things…” I Tim. 4:11

“ ..give attention to the public reading of scripture, exhortation and teaching” I Tim. 4:16

“..pay close attention to … your teaching” I Tim. 4:16

“…teach and preach these principles…” I Tim. 6:2

“… preach the word…” II Tim. 4:2

Examples of Apostles Fulfilling the Mandate: Acts 2:42 “They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching….” Acts 6:4 “But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 10:42 “And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead.” Acts 13:32 “And we preach to you the good news of the promise made to the fathers,”

What to preach/teach: “And as you go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 10:7 “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15 “But Paul and Barnabus stayed in Antioch, teaching and preaching with many others also, the word of the Lord.” Acts 15:35 Acts 20:27 “For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God.” “For we do not preach ourselves; but Christ Jesus as Lord; and ourselves as your bondservants for Jesus’s sake.” II Cor. 4:5 “To me, the very least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ,” Ephesians 3:8 “But the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word which was preached to you.” I Peter 1:25

Purpose or Goal of Instruction: “For the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” I Timothy 1:5

Motivations or Attitudes Behind our Instruction: “I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. So, for my part, I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.” Romans 1:14,15 “but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who examines our hearts.” I Thess. 2:4 “For the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” I Timothy 1:5 “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.” II Timothy 4:2
