The Supreme Value & Fruit From Bible Reading, Meditation & Study

I. For knowing Christ – A. “Then beginning with Moses and with all the prophets, He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.” Luke 24:27

B. “You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life, it is these that testify about Me.” John 5:39


II. For spiritual growth and sanctification – A. “But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4

B. “And now I commend you to God and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” Acts 20:32

C. “So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Hi, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” John 8:31,32

D. For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thought and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12


III. For victory over sin and the evil one – A. “The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.” Psalm 37:31

B. “I have written to you, father, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.” I John 2:14


IV. For wisdom, insight, and guidance A. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

B. O how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For they are ever mine. I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.” Psalm 119:97-99


V. For fruitfulness, peace, and blessing/happiness – A. “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season. And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.” Psalm 1:2,3

B. “Those who love Your law have great peace, And nothing causes them to stumble.” Psalm 119:165

C. “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3
