Holy/Holiness in the New Testament re: the people of God
I offer the passages below for those who want to “be holy as He is holy”. This of course requires that we know Him as holy. Thankfully He is constantly working in His church to present us to Himself “holy and blameless”.

Holy in the N.T. re: The Holy Spirit, God, Jesus
The Living Triune God of the Bible is referred to twice in the New Testament as being Love (I John 4:8, 16). He is referred to over 100 times in the New Testament as being Holy. (I do not point this out to diminish the wonder of His love for us).

Holy in the Old Testament re: the Prophets
Obviously the oft repeated call to holiness for God's people is intended for the prophets and thankfully as Peter notes, many of them were noted by or for their holiness.

Holy in the Old Testament re: the Priests and Levites of God
God who is holy has always expected His servants or the leaders of His people to likewise be holy. It is impossible for them to please Him in their service to Him apart from walking in holiness.

Holy in the Old Testament re: Angels
Angels are highly involved in day to day life on planet earth, but most people are unawares or even oblivious to this activity. God chose to give Daniel much revelation of their activity, at least partly due to Daniel's steadfast seeking of God and His kingdom.

Holy in the O.T. re: Inanimate (places, things, etc)
This category of holiness in the Old Testament is by far the greatest in terms of occurrences. As you can see there are pages and pages of them. This gives us a sense of the scope or breadth of holiness.

Holy and Holiness in the Old Testament re: the people of God
The following verses in the Old Testament all relate to God's call for His people to be a holy people. I offer them for your meditation and study. Lord willing I will eventually expound on them. I trust you will find the progression of God's revelation instructive.

Holy & Holiness in the Old Testament re: our Triune God
The following verses all speak to God's holiness. May the Lord open our eyes and give us revelation of these most important matters.

Eternal Fire, Eternal Punishment, Eternal Destruction and Eternal Judgment in the New Testament
"the lost enjoy forever the horrible freedom they have demanded, and are therefore self-enslaved." C.S. Lewis - The Problem of Pain - p. 115 Dear Readers: Because some claim that a loving and good God would never cause the lost and rebellious to experience His judgment and the horrors of hell in an ongoing way; and they and others claim that God’s judgment will be immediate, once and for all, and will be over in a matter of minutes or hours, and will not continue throughout e

The Apostle Paul’s Requests for Prayer for Himself & His Co-workers II
Thought it might be helpful to summarize the requests Paul listed in these passages and added one at the end. Romans 15:30-32 - - “ Now I urge you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God for me, that I may be rescued from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may prove acceptable to the saints; so that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and find refreshing res

The Apostle Paul’s Requests for Prayer for Himself & His Co-workers
I compiled this list for several reasons: First, so that leaders of Christ’s church will see the need to intentionally request prayer and not feel ashamed to do so. We are in good company when we do so.

Hearing and Obeying God’s Voice - - World Changers
One of the wonderful things about our God is that He is a living relational God, who speaks to His creation.

Sin, Iniquities, Transgressions, God’s Mercy & the Pursuit of Holiness in the Psalms
This study is meant to highlight what the Psalms teach us about the reality of sin, iniquities and transgressions, God's plentiful mercy for such, and the call to holiness in the Psalms - all of which should be a significant part of the foundation of Christ's church in every city

Why Jesus Died on the Cross
Like so many other things in the kingdom, we tend to think we know this, and tend to be a bit simplistic in talking about it to others. May meditation on these purpose statements result in greater devotion to Him, and greater effectiveness in speaking of the cross to others.

What We were Saved From
In preparation for Holy Week, I sensed the need for a tool to help us in our meditations on the greatness of our sin that required and led to the greatness of His sacrifice. Very easy to overlook or take for granted the greatness of His salvation and deliverance from the greatness of our sin and lostness.

Quotes on the Holy Spirit
We are doing a six week or so sermon series on the Holy Spirit here at The Well – Los Osos, so I thought it might be helpful to see what leaders of the church down through the ages have said about the Holy Spirit.

What the Bible says about It Self
My objective below was to try to find as many scriptures as I could that speak to the authority and reliability of scripture....... But hopefully there is enough below to help one see that you can bank your life and eternity on the scriptures.

David’s Delight in the Gathered People of God, and His Commitment to Corporate Worship
King David is the only person in scripture deemed as “a man after God’s own heart” (Acts 13:22). I suppose there are a number of reasons why God esteems him as such. But surely one of them is because of how much David loved and cherished the people of God.

Jesus’s Prayer Promises
These promises have been a great encouragement to me over the years to talk less and pray more, though I still need to talk less and pray more. I trust they will be an encouragement to you as well!
