One of the greatest sources of motivation for myself over the years to pray for my city especially (and for other cities from time to time) is discovering all of God's revelation regarding His formation of cities, blessing on cities, judging and punishing of cities, and prophecies of His servants regarding God's future blessing and judgment on cities.

After my son became lead pastor one of the many things we are taking a fresh look at is how ministers of the gospel should think and feel about being paid by the church; and how the church ought to think and feel about paying ministers of the gospel. This little study came out of those discussions.

I’m not a woman and have never been a wife.. but I have spent some hours in these passages. My hope is that you will use this outline in your own devotional times with the Lord and in your fellowship with other wives in seeking to please the Lord as godly wives to your husbands.

Preface: The Holy Spirit seems to be revealing to the body of Christ in these days the foundational doctrine of the goodness of God. We dare not try to follow Jesus as His disciple and not be firmly grounded in the revelation and reality of His goodness. So this study is a step in that direction.

So I decided to read through every chapter of the New Testament - noting any and every reference to giving and tithing - sometimes noting passages that sometimes are used to encourage tithing or giving are in fact not addressing that. May the Holy Spirit help us all be more grounded in all His truth so we can be more like Him in all matters of giving, tithing and overall financial stewardship of His stuff.

John’s gospel stands alone and leaves out significant things like: Jesus’s genealogy, birth, baptism, temptation, casting out of demons, parables, transfiguration, instituting of the Lord’s supper, agony in Gethsemane, and His ascension. But adds a number of things that the synoptics leave out. Sometimes referred to as the “gospel apart”.
